University of Missouri-St. Louis junior midfielder Jon Huelsman and Quincy University senior goalkeeper Drew Duncan have been named the Great Lakes Valley Conference Offensive and Defensive Players of the Week in men’s soccer, it was announced by the league office Monday.

Huelsman helped the Tritons finish the week tied for second overall in conference action with an 8-2 mark following home wins against Lewis and UW-Parkside.  In Friday’s 1-0 shutout over the Flyers, Huelsman converted a penalty kick for the game-winner, while landing all four of his shots on goal.  In Sunday’s 2-1 victory over the Rangers, the Waterloo, Illinois native found the back of the net with 4:32 to play for his second game-winner of the week.  Over the entire weekend, Huelsman posted eight shots attempts, landing five on goal.  This is the second weekly honor in Huelsman’s career, the first of which came almost one year ago to the date on Oct. 14, 2013 – the last time a Triton was recognized by the league.
