INDIANAPOLIS – Maryville University junior Elizabeth Kiblinger has been named the Great Lakes Valley Conference Runner of the Week in women's cross country, it was released by the conference office on Tuesday.
Kiblinger was the first runner across the line at the Pre-Conference Rumble 5K race Saturday morning at Lewis University – site of the 2014 GLVC Championships. She ran the course in 18 minutes, 16.22 seconds to win the race by more than 30 seconds. The women's team was edged out by Saint Joseph's 26-30 for the team title.
The Cape Girardeau, Missouri, native earns the first-ever weekly accolade for the Maryville cross country program.
Maryville remains in St. Louis for its next competition, racing in the Saint Louis College of Pharmacy event on Oct. 25.
