INDIANAPOLIS – Lewis University sophomore Amanda Farrough has been named the Great Lakes Valley Conference Runner of the Week in women’s cross country, it was released by the conference office on Tuesday.

Farrough turned in a career-best time of 21 minutes, 36 seconds to help the Flyers finish 14th overall at the 6K UW-Oshkosh AAE Invitational at the Lake Breeze Golf Club on Saturday morning.  The South Bend, Indiana, native, who finished 12th overall in the race, bested her previous 6K record time of 21:37.4, which she set at the 2013 NCAA Championships.

Farrough earns her second career weekly award as she was also recognized on Sept. 17, 2013.  She is the first Flyer to be honored with the accolade since Kristen Bonsor on Oct. 1, 2014.

Lewis returns to action Saturday as the Flyers travel to Evansville to participate in the Southern Indiana Regional Preview at 10:30 a.m.
