INDIANAPOLIS – Truman State University freshman Will Shanel and Bellarmine University freshman Olivia Hoskins have been named the PNC Great Lakes Valley Conference Athletes of the Week in the sports of men’s and women’s swimming and diving, it was announced by the league office on Tuesday.

Competing in a tri-meet at Lindenwood along with fellow GLVC member Drury, Shanel took home second place in the 400 IM (4:06.25) and grabbed third in the 200 Fly (1:54.45) to set the program’s fastest times in each event this fall.  Additionally, the St. Charles, Illinois, native turned in a 200 Back time of 1:59.86 that was also the quickest by a Bulldog this year.  The weekly honor is the first for the Truman men’s program.

Shanel and Truman return to action in two weeks, visiting Lewis University for a tri-meet with the Flyers and Lake Forest on Nov. 8 at 11 a.m.
