Indianapolis, Ind. – Drury University’s Geoff Hughes (Raytown, Mo./South) is the Great Lakes Valley Conference Men’s Cross Country Runner of the Week. The freshman runner placed 25th in the Men’s University Division of the Missouri Southern Stampede held in Joplin, Mo. on Sept. 16.
Hughes completed the 8K course in a time of 26:20.7 to lead the Panthers’ to a 15th-place team finish. He competed against 297 individual runners in his first collegiate 8K event and helped Drury to a solid team finish in the 31-team field.
Drury finished with a team score of 391 assisted by the score of 22 posted by Hughes.
