INDIANAPOLIS – Drury University senior Sean Feher and sophomore Ariel Xu have been named the PNC Great Lakes Valley Conference Athletes of the Week in the sports of men’s and women’s swimming and diving, it was announced by the league office on Tuesday.

Feher shined for the second-place Panthers at the Mizzou Invite in Columbia, Missouri, on Saturday, posting a pair of NCAA “A” Cuts and a school record in the backstroke.  The Des Peres, Missouri, native achieved the “A” standard in both the 100 (47:37) and 200 (1:44.62) backstroke, with his time in the 100 setting a new program mark.  His time of 20.12 in the 50 Free missed an “A” cut by a mere .16 of a second.  Additionally, Feher was a member of the 200 (1:28.06) and 400 (3:15.39) Medley Relay and 200 (1:20.98) and 400 (2:54.86) Freestyle Relay teams, the last two of which achieved “A” cuts, while the 400 Free almost broke the NCAA Division II record.

This is Feher’s first career award and the first for a Drury swimmer since Rodrigo Caceres was recognized last month on Oct. 21.
