INDIANAPOLIS – Lewis University sophomore distance runner Amanda Farrough and University of Indianapolis senior thrower Farin Hickman have been respectively named the Great Lakes Valley Conference Women’s Indoor Track and Field Athletes of the Week, it was announced by the conference office Wednesday.
Hickman won the women's shot put at UIndy's Friday Night Special last week with an NCAA provisional qualifying toss of 13.54 meters. Her toss is ranked first among GLVC competitors and among the top 16 on the NCAA Qualifying list. The Whiteland, Indiana, native concluded the competition with a runner-up finish in the 20-pound weight throw with a toss of 16.33 meters, which is second among GLVC competitors.
This is the first weekly indoor award and the first for a Greyhound since Tatiana Zhuravleva was honored on Feb. 25, 2014.
