INDIANAPOLIS – Lewis University sophomore distance runner Amanda Farrough and University of Indianapolis senior thrower Farin Hickman have been respectively named the Great Lakes Valley Conference Women’s Indoor Track and Field Athletes of the Week, it was announced by the conference office Wednesday.

Farrough crossed the line first with a winning 5,000-meter time of 16 minutes, 58.23 seconds at UIndy's Friday Night Special last week.  The South Bend, Indiana, native, who beat two other NCAA Division II All-Americans in the race, posted a time that is second-fastest in Division II this season and is 45 seconds better than the next best GLVC runner.

The honor is the first GLVC weekly award for Farrough in her indoor career and the first for a Flyer since Chantel Stennis was honored last week.
