INDIANAPOLIS – Lewis University senior distance runner Andrew McLain and University of Indianapolis senior thrower T.J. Lovejoy have been respectively named the Great Lakes Valley Conference Men’s Indoor Track and Field Athletes of the Week, it was announced by the conference office Wednesday. 

McLain ran the nation’s fourth-fastest 5,000-meter time this season, crossing the line in 14 minutes, 13.98 seconds at the IU Hoosier Open this past Friday.  The time is also 35 seconds quicker than the second-fastest GLVC runner at the distance this year.

This is the Fort Wayne, Indiana, native’s second weekly honor of his indoor career as he was also recognized on Dec. 11, 2013.
