Lewis University junior sprinter Chantel Stennis and Missouri S&T senior pole vaulter Molly Clement have been respectively named the first Great Lakes Valley Conference Women's Indoor Track and Field Athletes of the Week of the 2014-15 season.

Lewis won the 200-meter dash at Grand Valley State's Early Bird Meet this past week, sprinting to the win in a school record 24.28 seconds – the nation's fastest time in the event, regardless of NCAA division.  The Bolingbrook, Illinois, native came back to run on the 4x400-meter relay that timed 3:52.59 to tops the conference charts.

The honor is the first GLVC weekly award for Stennis and the first for a Flyer since Megan Marchildon was honored on Feb. 25, 2014.

Clement finished fourth in the pole vault at the Missouri Southern Early Bird Meet last week with an NCAA provisional mark of 11'-07.75".  A native of Souderton, Pennsylvania, Clement posted the ninth-best clearance in the country with the attempt.

This is the second weekly indoor award for Clement as she was also recognized on Feb. 1, 2012.  She is the first Lady Miner to be honored since Taylor Cipicchio exactly one year ago today on Dec. 11, 2013.
