University of Missouri-St. Louis freshman Felix Kusnierz and Truman State University freshman Jasmine Roghair have been named the PNC Great Lakes Valley Conference Athletes of the Week in the sports of men’s and women’s swimming and diving, it was announced by the league office on Tuesday.

In a dual meet at Lincoln College this past week, Kusnierz was essential to the Tritons’ success with impressive outings in long distance and middle distance freestyle events. He won the 1,000-yard Freestyle in a new pool-record time of 9:46.87. He also was part of the winning 200 Freestyle event and dominated the 500 Freestyle where he set another pool record in 4:49.97.
 
A native of Essen, Germany, Kusnierz earns his second weekly award having also been recognized earlier this season on Dec. 10, 2014.
