University of Wisconsin-Parkside sophomore distance runner Moriah Palmer and Lewis University junior multi-event specialist Amber Cook have been respectively named the Great Lakes Valley Conference Women’s Indoor Track and Field Athletes of the Week, it was announced by the conference office Thursday.
Competing at the Private College Invitational in Kenosha, Wisconsin, Palmer secured the team’s third event win on Saturday, besting the field in the 800-meter run by clocking a time of 2 minutes, 16.94 seconds.
This is the Machesney Park, Illinois, native’s first career weekly honor and the first for a Ranger in the indoor season since Jessica Watychowicz was recognized on Feb. 6, 2013.
