University of Southern Indiana junior distance runner Johnnie Guy and Lewis University junior jumper Isaac Jean-Paul have been respectively named the Great Lakes Valley Conference Men’s Indoor Track and Field Athletes of the Week, it was announced by the conference office Thursday. 

Guy earned an NCAA Provisional mark with a first-place finish in the 3,000-meter race at Wabash College’s Little Giant Invitational this past Saturday.  He clocked in at 8 minutes, 28.50 seconds, a good seven seconds ahead of the second-place finisher.  His time currently ranks first in the GLVC and sixth nationally.  In addition, he doubled back to finish second in the mile with a time of 4:22.74, which is fourth overall among conference milers this season.
