INDIANAPOLIS – Drury University junior guard Annie Armstrong has been named the Great Lakes Valley Conference Player of the Week in women’s basketball, it was announced by the league office Monday. 

In two wins last week at Maryville and Missouri-St. Louis, Armstrong averaged 22.5 points per game on 65.2 percent (15-of-23) shooting, including 60 percent (6-of-10) from beyond the arc.  She had just one turnover in 55 minutes of action and totaled six rebounds, four assists and one steal as well.
 
In the 77-70 win at Maryville on Thursday, Armstrong led all scorers with a career-high 30 points on 10-of-16 shooting (62.5%), including 6-of-9 from beyond the arc.  She was a perfect 4-for-4 from the free-throw line and managed to grab two rebounds while dishing a pair of assists without committing a turnover in 34 minutes of play.

On Saturday, Armstrong dropped 15 points on 5-of-7 (71.4%) shooting, while hauling in four rebounds, two assists and one steal in the No. 21 Lady Panthers’ 66-48 win at UMSL.
 
The Springfield, Missouri, native earns the second weekly honor of her career as she was the last Drury standout recognized by the conference on Jan. 12, 2015.
