Lewis University sophomore distance runner Amanda Farrough and University of Indianapolis senior thrower Farin Hickman have been respectively named the Great Lakes Valley Conference Women's Indoor Track and Field Athletes of the Week, it was announced by the conference office Thursday.

Farrough set an NCAA Provisional and career-best time in the 3,000-meter run with a third-place finish of 9 minutes, 41.24 seconds at the Grand Valley State Quad last Saturday.  Her time is currently tops in the conference and eighth nationally among Division II runners.

The honor is the second GLVC weekly award in Farrough’s indoor career as the South Bend, Indiana native earned her first accolade on Dec. 17, 2014.
