Quincy University’s Toni Eye (Washington, Mo.) is the Great Lakes Valley Conference Women’s Soccer Player of the Week. The sophomore goalkeeper posted three shutouts for the Hawks enabling them to post two GLVC wins and finish the week with a 2-0-1 mark.
She made 11 saves in Quincy’s scoreless tie with McKendree on Tuesday. Eye turned away all 11 shots on goal in the 110 minutes she registered in goal during the double-overtime match.
Quincy went on the road on Friday and collected a key conference victory over Rockhurst, 2-0. Eye made five saves in the win.
She finished the week by posting four saves in the Lady Hawks’ 1-0 win at Drury on Sunday.
On the week, Eye finished with 20 saves. She has notched four consecutive shutouts and lowered her goals against average on the season to 0.47. Eye has a save percentage of .921 having collected 35 saves and allowing just three goals in six matches this season.
Quincy (7-1-1) vaulted into first place in the GLVC with the key wins and boasts a 4-0-0 league record. The Lady Hawks will next host Lewis and UW-Parkside this weekend.
