INDIANAPOLIS – Lewis University junior Chantel Stennis and University of Indianapolis freshman thrower Katie Monk have been respectively named the Great Lakes Valley Conference Women's Indoor Track and Field Athletes of the Week, it was recently announced by the conference office.

Stennis won the 200-meter dash at the Hillsdale Wide-Track Classic with a school-record time of 24.26, which broke her previous best time of 24.28. That mark is the fastest in the GLVC and the fourth-fastest time in the NCAA.
This is the third time this season that Stennis has been feted with this award and the fifth time out of seven tries that the No. 9 Flyers have captured the GLVC Track Athlete of the Week.

Monk improved upon her NCAA provisional mark in the women's shot put with a fourth place finish at the Hillsdale Wide Track Classic. She threw a season and personal best of 13.73 meters, which is currently the best among GLVC athletes and among the top 25 on the NCAA qualifying list.

This is the first weekly award of her career.
