Drury University senior first baseman Luke Tewes and junior pitcher Luke Burnidge have been respectively named the Great Lakes Valley Conference Player and Pitcher of the Week in the sport of baseball, the conference office announced Monday.

Burnidge went 6.1 innings on the mound and struck out five while surrendering five hits and no walks as Drury closed out the four-game series at St. Edwards with a 2-0 shutout on Saturday.

The Kansas City, Missouri, native earns his first career weekly award.
