Lewis University senior Armand Levandi has been named the Great Lakes Valley Conference Player of the Week in the sport of men’s tennis, the conference announced Thursday.

Levandi went 6-1, 6-1 at No. 1 singles against Walsh University’s Pablo Cabezon after posting an 8-2 victory with classmate Erik Aunapuu at No. 1 doubles versus Cabezon and Ross Whittaker.

His 2-0 mark last Monday helped the Flyers earn a 6-3 victory past the Cavaliers and improved the team record to 2-0 for the spring campaign. He has won eight of his last 10 singles matches and nine of his last 10 doubles matches.

For the season, the Tallinn, Estonia, native is 18-2 overall in No. 1 singles action and 15-1 at No. 1 doubles, including 2-0 at No. 1 singles and doubles dual action.

This is the senior’s second career weekly award and first for a Flyer since Levandi was last selected April 16, 2013.
