University of Wisconsin-Parkside freshman Courtney Ellingson was named Great Lakes Valley Conference Player of the Week in the sport of softball after clocking time in three different positions last week, the conference office announced Tuesday.

Ellingson inished the week hitting .667 inside the Husky Dome, helping the Rangers (4-9) split a pair of non-conference games against Minot State and Minnesota-Crookston. She was 2-for-3 in the opener against MSU, accounting for two of the squad's three hits in a 1-0 extra innings loss before collecting two hits and two RBI in the nightcap, as the Rangers topped UM-Crookston. On Sunday, the freshman had a two-run home run against Minot State while finishing a perfect 3-for-3 in a shutout win over UMC. The freshman finished the week with five extra-base hits, including two home runs while driving in five runs and scoring six times.

Additionally, the southpaw tossed 15 innings in the circle, striking out 13 with a 0.47 earned run average, notching a win and a save.

The Sturtevant, Wisconsin native earns her first career weekly honor.
