Truman State University senior first baseman Paul Trenhaile and redshirt freshman pitcher Kent Frantz have been respectively named the PNC Great Lakes Valley Conference Player and Pitcher of the Week in the sport of baseball, the conference office announced Tuesday.

Trenhaile led the Bulldogs to their first four-game conference series sweep since 2004 when they took all four against defending national champion Southern Indiana on the road this weekend. In that series, the Hannibal, Missouri, native hit .500 (9-for-18) with eight RBIs on a double and home run. He extended his hitting streak to 12 games and his reached base streak to 13 on the season. For the week, Trenhaile hit .455 with an on-base slugging (OPS) total of 1.231. For the season, Trenhaile is batting .463 with five doubles, a triple and two home runs. The first-time weekly honoree has a team leading 18 RBIs and has scored 14 runs.  Last Tuesday, Trenhaile was 1-for-4 in a 10-2 loss at NCAA Division I Missouri.
