University of Missouri-St. Louis junior Hannah Perryman was named Great Lakes Valley Conference Pitcher of the Week in the sport of softball, while Truman State University senior second baseman Andrea Klipsch has been named the GLVC Player of the Week, the conference office announced Tuesday.
Klipsch helped the Bulldogs to eight wins last week, including four in conference play. She batted .407 (11-for-27) and blasted six home runs, adding a team-high 15 RBI. The senior also tallied a double and eight runs. Two of the games – Ferris State University and game one against Lewis University – were multi-home run performances that accounted for four RBI each. Hitting in the No. 2 spot, the second baseman had at least one hit in seven of the eight games, including three multi-hit games, while striking out only once in 27 at-bats with a sacrifice bunt and fly. Impressively, she also finished the week with an on-base plus slugging percentage of 1.525.
The St. Louis, Missouri, native has now been named Player of the Week twice in her career, the first of which came almost exactly one year ago on March 18, 2014.
