Lewis University freshman Nora Mindiyarova has been named the Great Lakes Valley Conference Player of the Week in the sport of women's tennis, the conference announced Tuesday.
Mindiyarova did not lose a single game as she earned victories at both No. 1 singles (6-0, 6-0) and doubles -- with Ana Banic -- (8-0) as the visiting Flyers picked up the 5-0 league win over Saint Joseph's. On March 21, the rookie's singles win came against Tate Hickey, while her doubles victory with Banic was past Hickey and Clare Host. Her singles year-to-date record is 14-6, and her doubles mark is 11-6.
This is the Moscow, Russia, native's second career weekly honor, first earning the accolade earlier this season on February 26.
