William Jewell College senior outfielder Luke Lucchetti and University of Indianapolis sophomore pitcher Jordan Tackett have been respectively named the PNC Great Lakes Valley Conference Player and Pitcher of the Week in the sport of baseball, the conference office announced Tuesday.

Tackett spun a complete game three-hit shutout in UIndy's 11-0 win against Illinois Springfield Sunday, helping the Greyhounds win the series 3-1. The Indianapolis, Indiana, native struck out a career-high 11 batters, and allowed only two free passes and one extra-base hit.  He needed exactly 100 pitches to dispatch the Prairie Stars and pick up his second winning decision of the season. Over his last two starts Tackett has surrendered just four hits and pitched 12.2 consecutive scoreless innings.

This is Tackett’s first career honor and the first time a Greyhound pitcher has been recognized by the conference office since Donovan Drake on April 30, 2012.
