Lewis University junior Chantel Stennis and University of Indianapolis senior thrower Farin Hickman have been respectively named the Great Lakes Valley Conference Women's Outdoor Track and Field Athletes of the Week, it was announced by the league office Wednesday.
Hickman established a new university record in the hammer throw with her winning toss of 191’ 4” at the Miami (Ohio) Invitational contested this weekend. Her toss is first among GLVC competitors and currently third among all NCAA Division II throwers.
This is the first outdoor weekly honor of the Whiteland, Indiana, native’s career. She is the first Greyhound to win the outdoor award since Tatiana Zhuravleva on April 16, 2014.
