Quincy University senior second baseman Kory Wisdom has been named PNC Great Lakes Valley Conference Player of the Week in the sport of baseball, while for the first time ever PNC GLVC Pitcher of the Week has been shared, the conference office announced Monday.  Bellarmine University junior Austin Warner and University of Indianapolis sophomore Jordan Tackett have both been recognized for their impressive no-hitters last week.

Wisdom helped Quincy to a sweep a non-conference sweep of McKendree on Tuesday and a series win over Missouri S&T this past weekend to move into a tie for the GLVC West lead with William Jewell.  Wisdom recorded 13 hits in 20 at bats this week for a .650 average.  He also had five walks and was hit by a pitch to reach base at a .731 clip in the six games, while also managing to slug .750.  The Eureka, Mo. native had three RBI and four runs scored this week.  On Sunday, Wisdom was a combined 6-for-6 at the plate with three walks, two RBI, and three runs scored in a second day sweep of S&T.  Wisdom went 3-for-3 against McKendree in game two of the midweek doubleheader with a walk, a run, and an RBI to finish the week with three of six games reaching base every plate appearance.

The honor is Wisdom’s first of his career and the first for a Hawk since David Jacob was honored on March 23, 2015.
