University of Missouri-St. Louis junior Hannah Perryman and University of Southern Indiana senior Brooke Harmening were named Great Lakes Valley Conference Pitcher and Player of the Week, respectively, in the sport of softball, the conference office announced Monday.
On the week, Perryman went 2-0 with a 0.00 ERA, allowed just one hit in 13 innings, struck out 27 batters and limited them to a paltry .029 hitting.
In game two against Missouri S&T, she tossed a complete game, one-hit shutout with 15 strikeouts and just one walk for the 3-0 win. In her second game, game one versus Drury, she was perfect in six innings with 12 strikeouts, no walks and no hits to earn the 9-0 win. The performance marked her third perfect game of the season, tying an NCAA Division II single season record while also tying an NCAA DII career record of four perfect games. During the win, she also recorded her 1,000 career strikeout as she now has a total of 1,008. Additionally, she has earned her ninth shutout of the season and is on an eight-game win streak from the circle while having won 19 overall so far in 2015.
This is the Streamwood, Illinois, native's second weekly honor this season and 11th of her career.
