Truman State University junior Dominic Kacich and Missouri S&T junior Trevor King have been respectively named the Great Lakes Valley Conference Men's Outdoor Track and Field Athletes of the Week, it was announced by the conference office Wednesday.
King finished first in the decathlon at William Jewell's Darrel Gourley Invitational this past weekend with an NCAA provisional mark of 6,257 points. His total ranks him second among conference competitors and 17th in the country.
The Union, Missouri, native earns his first career honor and is now the fourth straight Miner to earn GLVC Outdoor Field Athlete of the Week dating back to last season. Peter Simpson was honored last week, Joe Vellella took home the season's first award two weeks ago, while Ryan McGuire earned last year's final accolade on May 2, 2014.
