Quincy University senior second baseman Kory Wisdom and Lewis University freshman pitcher Ryan Fox have been respectively named the PNC Great Lakes Valley Conference Player and Pitcher of the Week in the sport of baseball, the conference office announced Tuesday.

In a scheduled seven-inning game, Fox went the full nine innings to seal a 1-0 victory on Sunday against Saint Joseph’s.  Fox got out of a 1st-and-3rd one-out jam in the eighth with a double play, and then struck out two batters in the ninth to preserve the win.  Over the course of the nine innings, Fox threw 96 pitches, registering four strikeouts and no walks.  The newcomer from Dayton, Ohio has not allowed a run in his last 17.0 innings pitched, which includes a seven-inning shutout over Southern Indiana two weeks ago.
