University of Indianapolis senior Casey Williamson and University of Missouri-St. Louis junior Hannah Perryman were named Great Lakes Valley Conference Player and Pitcher of the Week, respectively, in the sport of softball, the conference office announced Tuesday.
Williamson made just two outs all weekend, finishing the road trip with a gaudy .714 batting average, an .857 on-base percentage and a 1.143 slugging. Three of her five hits went for extra bases while half of her plate appearances ended in a base on balls.
After walking twice in the opener at Quincy, the senior delivered three RBI in game two Friday. Her fifth-inning single tied the game at 3-3, while her RBI double in the seventh provided an insurance run in the 5-3 comeback win. She had two doubles, three runs and a walk in the Hounds' 8-0 shutout win at Truman State Sunday, before capping the week with three more walks and a stolen base in game two.
On the season, Williamson leads the GLVC in walks (38) and ranks second in OBP (.514), third in steals (21), fifth in runs (39) and seventh in slugging (.695).
The Indianapolis, Indiana native has two weekly selections this season and finishes her career with six total.
