University of Southern Indiana junior Tyler Pence and Missouri S&T freshman Lucas Rosenbaum have been respectively named the Great Lakes Valley Conference Men's Outdoor Track and Field Athletes of the Week, it was announced recently by the conference office.
Pence ran 13 minutes, 59.87 seconds in the 5,000 meters at the Mt. SAC relays last Friday night, a time that ranks him first in the GLVC and third among all NCAA Division II runners. He eclipsed the 14-minute mark by closing out the final 800 meters in just 2:05.
Rosenbaum finished third in the pole vault at the Dewey Allgood Invitational with an NCAA provisional mark of 16' 3.25". This clearance put him atop the GLVC rankings and 12th nationally.
