Rockhurst University senior middle hitter Katie Loescher and sophomore libero Anne Hellwege have garnered Baden/Great Lakes Valley Conference Player of the Week honors in the sport of volleyball, it was announced by the league office Monday.
 
Loescher was tabbed Baden/GLVC Offensive Player of the Week, while Hellwege was named Baden/Defensive Player of the Week.

Loescher led the Hawks in their perfect 4-0 weekend with 50 kills (4.17 per set), a .592 hitting percentage and 59.5 points (4.69 per set). Rockhurst won all 12 sets played and defeated the fifth-ranked team in Wayne State. The middle hitter also posted 14 blocks and five digs in those 12 sets. Loescher led the team with 14 kills and six blocks against #5 WSU and was named to the Rockhurst Classic All-Tournament Team.

This is the Newton, Kans., native's first career weekly honor and first offensive Hawk chosen since November 3, 2014 when teammate Morgan Rietzke was selected.
