McKendree University senior quarterback Isaac Fisher, Missouri S&T sophomore linebacker Austin Truvillion, and Lincoln University senior kick returner Vanzell Richardson have been named Great Lakes Valley Conference Players of the Week in football, it was announced by the league office Monday.
Fisher was tabbed GLVC Offensive Player of the Week, Truvillion was picked Defensive Player of the Week, while Richardson was named Special Teams Player of the Week.
Richardson recorded the play of the game for Lincoln, returning a kickoff 82 yards for a touchdown in the Blue Tigers’ 42-37 loss at Quincy on Saturday. The play cut LU's deficit to 21-17, and helped keep the Blue Tigers in the game. Richardson finished the afternoon with 127 all-purpose yards, including 116 yards on kick returns. A native of San Bernardino, California, Richardson becomes the first LU standout to receive GLVC Special Teams Player of the Week honors.
