Southern Illinois University Edwardsville’s Mallory Clements (Mt. Pulaski, Ill.) is the Baden/Great Lakes Valley Conference Volleyball Player of the Week. The junior setter paced the Cougars in a pair of victories over the weekend, including a 3-1 win over visiting Lewis on Saturday.
Clements, for the week, averaged 2.33 kills, 10.11 assists and 5.33 digs per game. She collected her third and fourth triple-doubles of the season with double-digit efforts in kills, assists and digs in wins over UW-Parkside and Lewis.
In the Cougars’ 3-2 win over visiting UW-Parkside on Friday, Clements posted 10 kills, 46 assists, 23 digs and four blocks.
She collected 11 kills, 45 assists, 25 digs and two service aces in the victory over the Flyers.
Clements is averaging 2.22 kills, 11.32 assists and 3.65 digs per game this season and has helped lead the Cougars to the top of the GLVC West Division Standings.
SIUE (16-5, 9-2) is ranked 18th in the latest CSTV/AVCA NCAA Division II Top 25 Poll and will return to action at home against Bellarmine and Kentucky Wesleyan this weekend.
Other top performers in the GLVC last week included: Lewis’ Andrea Morrone and Ashlee Lindish, Northern Kentucky’s Liz Holmes, UIndy’s Lyndsay Callahan and Rockhurt’s Audrey Boese.
