Quincy University junior midfielder Taylor Reis and Bellarmine University sophomore defender Mike Albes have garnered Great Lakes Valley Conference Player of the Week honors in the sport of men's soccer, it was announced by the league office Monday.

Reis was tabbed GLVC Offensive Player of the Week, while Albes was named Defensive Player of the Week.

Reis led the No. 9 Hawks with two goals on the weekend in a 3-2 win past UW-Parkside and a 3-1 victory over Lewis. Reis scored in the seventh minute against the Rangers on Friday on a one-touch at the near post from Artan Emini. The junior scored a similar goal on Sunday against the Flyers with a low line drive, again coming from Emini. The midfielder finished to the near post in the 71st minute to lock up the Hawks' fourth win in the GLVC. This is the Quincy, Ill., native's first career weekly honor and the first Hawk to garner the offensive nod since Jordan Roberts on September 29, 2014.
