University of Wisconsin-Parkside junior Moriah Palmer has been named the Great Lakes Valley Conference Runner of the Week in women’s cross country, it was announced by the Conference office on Tuesday.
At the 37-team Roy Griak Invitational, Palmer finished runner-up amongst the 371-competitor field in the women's Maroon Division II race, completing the 6,000-meter course in 22 minutes, 26.2 seconds. The 24th-ranked Rangers placed fourth overall at the 37-team meet, earning 153 points and finishing 13 points clear of fifth-place University of Mary.
The Machesney Park, Illinois native earns her first career weekly and she is the first Ranger to be recognized by the league since Jessica Watychowicz was Oct. 9, 2012.
