McKendree University senior quarterback Isaac Fisher and junior defensive lineman Lucky Baar, along with Quincy University sophomore punter Mason Murray, have been named Great Lakes Valley Conference Players of the Week in football, it was announced by the league office Monday.
Fisher was tabbed GLVC Offensive Player of the Week, Baar was picked Defensive Player of the Week, while Murray was named Special Teams Player of the Week.
Four of Murray's five punts pinned Saint Joseph's inside its own 12-yard line in Saturday's 18-16 win, helping the Hawks win the field position battle. The average starting field position on Murray's five punts was the SJC 11-yard line as the Pumas started drives on the 6, 20, 12, 9 and 9-yard lines, respectively, when Murray punted. He averaged 34.0 yards per punt. The Columbia, Missouri native earns his first career weekly honor and is the first QU standout to be recognized on special teams since Nate Rueckemann on Oct. 27, 2014.
