McKendree University senior quarterback Isaac Fisher and junior defensive lineman Lucky Baar, along with Quincy University sophomore punter Mason Murray, have been named Great Lakes Valley Conference Players of the Week in football, it was announced by the league office Monday.

Fisher was tabbed GLVC Offensive Player of the Week, Baar was picked Defensive Player of the Week, while Murray was named Special Teams Player of the Week.

For the second consecutive year, Baar had a big performance against Southwest Baptist in leading McKendree to a 38-13 Homecoming victory in a battle of the Bearcats.  Baar registered nine tackles, including six solos. Of his nine tackles, Baar posted 4 ½ quarterback sacks, which is a season-high for the reigning sack leader in NCAA Division II.  In last year's game against Southwest Baptist, Baar notched a GLVC record 5 ½ sacks.  This season's total included a fourth-quarter series where Baar had two solo sacks and a half-sack on a three-and-out. Thanks in part to Baar's effort, the McKendree defense held the GLVC's highest-scoring offense to a season-low in points (13) and did not allow a point over the final three quarters.  The Chicago, Illinois native earns the fourth weekly award of his career, having been honored three times last year on Oct. 20, Nov. 3, and Nov. 17, 2014.  He is the first Bearcat defender to be recognized since A.J. Wentland three weeks ago on Sept. 14.
