University of Indianapolis junior forward Jacob Meyer and Quincy University sophomore goalkeeper Nate Griffin have garnered Great Lakes Valley Conference Player of the Week honors in the sport of men's soccer, it was announced by the league office Monday.

Meyer was named GLVC Offensive Player of the Week, while Griffin was tabbed Defensive Player of the Week.

Meyer broke out of a seven-game scoring slump over the weekend, netting three goals, two of which were game-winners. Those goals helped the Greyhounds to a pair of road wins against Southern Indiana and Bellarmine. Friday night against the Screaming Eagles, the junior buried the eventual winner for Indianapolis in the 36th minute and added his second of the match in the 82nd minute en route to the 3-0 victory. Two days later against the Knights, the forward collected the game's lone goal in the 33rd minute in the 1-0 win. Meyer leads the Greyhounds with four goals and 10 points on the year.

This is the Lebanon, Ohio, native's first career weekly honor and the first Hound to garner the offensive nod since Daniel Wellmann was selected on October 20, 2014.
