Lewis University senior right side hitter Alexis Davito and Missouri S&T senior libero Jackie Pyles have earned Baden/Great Lakes Valley Conference Player of the Week honors in the sport of volleyball, it was announced by the league office Monday.

Davito was tabbed Baden/GLVC Offensive Player of the Week, while Pyles was selected Baden/Defensive Player of the Week.

Pyles continued her leadership from the Miner backline, leading the team in digs all four matches. Against non-league opponent Missouri Western she recorded 17 of her 21 digs in the first two sets in the 3-0 win. In the 3-0 sweep versus Maryville on Friday she had nine digs in the second set and added five more in the third to go along with two of her three service aces. In the 3-1 win over the Tritons on Saturday the senior recorded 14 of her 22 digs in the first and fourth sets in which S&T won the final three sets after dropping the opener. In the finale against non-conference foe Southern Arkansas on Saturday night the libero was one dig shy of matching her career-high and recorded her second match of 30 or more digs on the season. Pyles had 12 digs in the opening set where the Miners overcame a five-point deficit to win 26-24. She capped the match with six digs in the fifth and made several critical digs, leading to a 3-2 win. Additionally, Pyles made no reception errors in any of the four matches.

The White Lake, Mich., product garners her second weekly honor of the season, earning this season's first selection on September 7, and third of her career.
