University of Southern Indiana senior Johnnie Guy and sophomore Emily Roberts have been named the Great Lakes Valley Conference Runners of the Week for men's and women's cross country, it was announced by the Conference office on Tuesday. 

On the women's side, Roberts finished 40th out of 260 runners last Friday at the Greater Louisville Classic and was fourth in a field of Division II runners that included competitors from NCAA II No. 1 Hillsdale, No. 3 Grand Valley State, and No. 10 Bellarmine.  The 2014 GLVC Freshman of the Year crossed the finish line with a five-kilometer time of 17 minutes, 35.68 seconds, helping her 15th-ranked Screaming Eagles place third amongst NCAA II opponents with 534 points.

The Fredericktown, Ohio native garners her first career weekly honor and is the first for a USI runner since Julia Kohnen was recognized on Oct. 28, 2014.
