Bellarmine University freshman Evan Shive and sophomore Olivia Hoskins have been named the PNC Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) Athletes of the Week in the sports of men's and women's swimming and diving, it was announced by the league office on Tuesday.

Shive competed at the Asbury Season Kick Off Invitational in Wilmore, Ky., on Saturday, October 10 to open the 2015-16 campaign. In his first collegiate action, he took the top spot in two events, including the 100 (52.81) and 200 (2:01.61) butterfly. His time in the 100 fly set a new program record. Additionally, the freshman finished runner-up in the 100 backstroke. Shive's efforts helped the Knights score 183.5 points for a second-place finish out of four teams.

This is the first career weekly award for the Jeffersonville, Ind., native and the first for a male Knight since Luke Dobson earned the honor on October 13, 2014.
