Quincy University redshirt-sophomore forward Artan Emini and Saint Joseph's College freshman goalkeeper Adam Whybrow have earned Great Lakes Valley Conference Player of the Week honors in the sport of men's soccer, it was announced by the league office Monday.

Emini was named GLVC Offensive Player of the Week, while Whybrow was tabbed Defensive Player of the Week.

Quincy moved from sixth to third in league standings after two wins this weekend thanks in large part to Emini's three goals and an assist. The Hawks topped McKendree 4-1 on Friday and followed with a 2-1 win over Illinois Springfield on Sunday's senior day. The forward netted two second-half goals on Friday as the first came on a cross from the left side that he finished back to the left post. On the second goal, Emini got a touch around the diving keeper and tapped the ball home for the finish. He assisted on the first goal of Sunday's game, outpacing a defender down the right flank and sending a cross to Taylor Reis who settled the ball and finished back to the right post. The redshirt-sophomore scored the game-winning goal when he reached back to corral and finish his own rebound off the keeper.

This is the Yorkville, Ill., native's first career weekly honor and the second offensive Hawk to garner the nod this season as Reis was chosen on September 21.
