Quincy University redshirt-sophomore forward Artan Emini and Saint Joseph's College freshman goalkeeper Adam Whybrow have earned Great Lakes Valley Conference Player of the Week honors in the sport of men's soccer, it was announced by the league office Monday.
Emini was named GLVC Offensive Player of the Week, while Whybrow was tabbed Defensive Player of the Week.
Saint Joseph's went 1-0-1 this week, defeating Drury 1-0 and drawing scoreless with Missouri S&T, which has moved the Pumas into a tie for fourth place in GLVC standings ahead of Wednesday's last regular season game. Whybrow produced both clean sheets in 200 minutes of action that came a week after giving up nine goals to league-leading #12 Rockhurst. The freshman collected seven saves against Drury and four in 110 minutes against S&T. He now has an improved record of 8-5-1 on the year.
This is the Suffolk, England, product's first career weekly nod and only the second Puma to ever be chosen all-time, while Tyler Kincaid was the first honoree seven years ago on October 20, 2008.
