University of Southern Indiana freshman forward Kasper Bjoro and sophomore goalkeeper Adam Zehme have garnered the final Great Lakes Valley Conference Player of the Week honors of the season in the sport of men's soccer, it was announced by the league office Monday.
Bjoro was tabbed GLVC Offensive Player of the Week, while Zehme was named Defensive Player of the Week.
Zehme dominated in goal to aid the Screaming Eagles in a victory that earned USI its first GLVC Championship Tournament berth since 2012. In the game Wednesday, the sophomore made four saves, posting a shutout in the 2-0 win. He currently ranks 18th nationally with a .830 save percentage and is 25th in the country in goals against average (0.78). On the season, Zehme has amassed a 6-3-1 record in goal and five shutouts.
This is the Orland Park, Ill., product's first career weekly selection and first defensive selection for USI since Jeffrey Neidlinger was chosen on October 14, 2013.
