Bellarmine University sophomore forward Katie Fernandez and Truman State University sophomore goalkeeper Katie Mattingly have been named Great Lakes Valley Conference Players of the Week in the sport of women's soccer, it was announced by the league office Monday.

In the 2015 season's final award selections, Fernandez was tabbed GLVC Offensive Player of the Week, while Mattingly was named Defensive Player of the Week.

Mattingly closed the season as the GLVC's leader in goals-against average, save percentage and shutouts in Conference games with her 10th shutout overall during Truman's 2-0 win against #14 Quincy on Wednesday. She made three saves against a Hawk offense that entered the game with 26 goals in 14 league games, which was the second-highest in the league this season. Mattingly made three saves late in the game in the 73rd, 78th, and 90th minutes. The sophomore ended the regular season with a goals against average of 0.32 in GLVC-only matches, logging the second-most minutes of any GLVC keeper. She also posted a save percentage of .921.

The Perryville, Mo., product becomes Truman's second ever weekly awards selection on either offense or defense, having also been named the first winner earlier this season on September 14, making this nod the second of her career.
