Lewis University redshirt-freshman Mads Knoblauch and Truman State University freshman Emma Barnett have been named the PNC Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) Athletes of the Week in the sports of men's and women's swimming and diving, it was announced by the league office on Tuesday.
In a double dual meet vs. league rival Truman and non-conference foe Lake Forest, Lewis earned respective 139-120 and 183-68 wins thanks in large part to the performances of Knoblauch. He won three individual events, including the 100 backstroke (51.92), 200 back (1:57.42) and 200 individual medley (1:57.56). He also swam the first leg (24.33) of the Flyers' 1:36.07 victory in the 200 medley relay.
This is the first career weekly award for the Svenborg, Denmark, native and the second male Flyer chosen this season as Adam Wise earned the 2015-16 inaugural honor October 7.
