Lincoln University freshman wide receiver Antwon Davis, McKendree University junior linebacker A.J. Wentland, and University of Indianapolis senior wide receiver Reece Horn have been named Great Lakes Valley Conference Players of the Week in football, it was announced by the league office Monday.

Davis was tabbed GLVC Offensive Player of the Week, Wentland was picked Defensive Player of the Week, while Horn was named Special Teams Player of the Week.

Wentland paced the Bearcats' defense with 16 tackles in leading McKendree to a 56-30 win at home on Senior Day over Quincy. The total matches the second-highest tackle total in a game this season for Wentland. The Machesney Park, Illinois native, who was in on a tackle for loss as well, posted seven solo stops on the day.  He boosted his season total to 122 tackles, giving him the two highest single-season tackle totals in program history. He needs just 10 tackles to match the school record he set last season.  Wentland now sits in third place on the team's all-time list with 263 tackles, and is 32 stops shy of the school record.  This is the third weekly honor for Wentland as he was recognized on Sept. 14, 2015, and Nov. 10, 2014.
