Rockhurst University junior outside hitter Morgan Rietzke and senior libero Erin Walker have been named the final Baden/Great Lakes Valley Conference Players of the Week in volleyball, it was announced by the league office Monday.
Rietzke was named Baden/GLVC Offensive Player of the Week, while Walker was selected Baden/Defensive Player of the Week.
Rietzke led the Hawks with 37 kills (4.11 per set) and 40.5 points (4.50 per set) with a .259 hitting percentage in three wins last week as Rockhurst finished 18-0 in GLVC play. Additionally, she tallied 34 digs (3.78 per set) and seven (0.78 per set) blocks. During sweeps at Quincy and Truman on Friday and Saturday, the outside hitter recorded a double-double in each match for her seventh and eighth of the season, including marks of 11 kills and 19 digs at QU and 13 kills and 10 digs against the Bulldogs. Rockhurst also topped William Jewell at home Tuesday, 3-0, where Rietzke hit .667 percent with five digs.
The Kansas City, Mo., native garners her second career weekly honor and is the second Hawk to earn the nod this season as Katie Loescher was the first offensive selection Sept. 14.
