The University of Indianapolis’ Casey Chrzastowski (Bloomington, Ind.) is the Baden/Great Lakes Valley Conference Volleyball Player of the Week. The senior outside hitter averaged 4.27 kills per game in leading the Greyhounds to three wins.
Chrzastowski opened the week with a 12-kill, seven-dig performance in UIndy’s 3-0 win over Tiffin on Wednesday. She finished the match with a hitting percentage of .409 and added two service aces.
In UIndy’s 3-1 win at Bellarmine on Friday, Chrzastowski led the way with 15 kills, seven digs, two service aces and two blocks.
She completed the week with an impressive 20-dig effort at No. 25 Northern Kentucky on Saturday. Chrzastowski hit .457 in the match and collected seven digs and two blocks, helping UIndy build on their school-record 23 match winning streak.
For the week, Chrzastowski averaged 4.27 kills, 1.91 digs, 0.45 service aces and 0.36 blocks per game. She leads the Greyhounds this season with a 3.87 kills per game average and is posting 4.36 points per game. In addition, Chrzastowski has a hitting percentage of .267 and averages 1.46 digs per game.
UIndy (26-1), ranked 18th in the CSTV/AVCA NCAA D-II National Poll, improved to 15-0 in league play with the wins and can finish no worse than the No. 2 seed in the GLVC East Division. The Greyhounds will travel to Taylor on Tuesday before hosting UW-Parkside and Lewis this weekend.
Other top performers in the GLVC last week included: Drury’s Krystal Glessner, Lewis’ Stephanie Sagat, Rockhurst’s Savannah Leeper and SIU Edwardsville’s Samantha Schulte.
